The same coin is used to make these longer cases as the standard Remington, 35 Whelen case, so the case walls are thinner by .001" to .002". Not enough to cause any problems, but enough to create the added length. Of course this will improve case capacity slightly, making these cases similar to Winchester brass, in wall thickness. |
Writers often lament, "if only I could find a source of unformed brass, the job of forming my wildcat would be so much simpler." More important is that the formed cartridge case is fully formed after a trip through the sizing die. No fire forming is needed to acquire full capacity of the case. In short it's as close to factory ammo as a guy can get!
